Scope and Content Note
The Dascom Greene Papers contain student lecture
notebooks, and miscellaneous letters received while Greene was an RPI
professor. The lectures (1852-1853)cover a variety of civil engineering topics, including strength of materials,
surveying, theory of machines, constructions, etc. The miscellaneous letters discuss the U.S.
Coast Survey's need for Troy latitude observations (1871-1874), and the
chronograph which Greene ordered in 1882.
