The Charles Murdock Papers feature project files from Murdock's work as a consulting mechanical engineer specializing in ventilation and heating systems for highway tunnels. The files are grouped into larger projects if applicable, and organized chronologically. Files contain correspondence with contractors and machine manufacturers, specifications, graphs, plans, profiles, contract conditions, preliminary reports, etc. (The bulk of the profiles and plans have been removed to oversize storage.) Holland and Lincoln Tunnel files appear to include Murdock's continued investigation and testing of these tunnels.
The papers also include a small group of reprints, journals, and catalogs
relating to tunnels upon which Murdock worked, and ventilation systems
in general.
