The Folsom and Architecture Libraries' Circulation Desks
supervise the use of library and other materials, including electronic resources,
designated by faculty as important to the teaching of specific classes.
Materials are listed under course name in the Rensselaer Libraries'
CLASS RESERVE database as they become available for use. Access to certain
resources in this database is restricted to Rensselaer faculty, staff and students
in order to comply with copyright law and various licensing agreements. The CLASS
RESERVE database is independent of both the
WebCT system and RPInfo's
Coursework listing. Library staff will retrieve books from library collections, recall books from loan, order new books, screen requested materials for compliance with copyright law and library licensing agreements, update library databases, add hypertext links, and prepare materials for use in folders or for scanning. Staff will also assist you in obtaining permissions to use printed or electronic copies of copyrighted information. Questions about particular use or handling policies,
availability of equipment etc. at the Folsom Library should be directed to the
Class Reserve Coordinator (tel.: x8317 or email: eres-support@rpi.edu). Questions
about class reserve materials for Architecture courses should be directed to
the Architecture Library (tel.: x6465).
