Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 5.x
|
|
|
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x for the Macintosh cannot
be configured to use the proxy server. Use Netscape Navigator
6.23 or higher.
|
|
|
-
The AOL browser (included in all AOL versions) does
not support the required Proxy Service configuration.
-
AOL Users should use either Microsoft Internet Explorer,
version 5 (or higher) or Netscape Navigator version
6.1 (or higher).
-
This will not always solve every problem. If you installed
AOL services after you installed Internet Explorer (or
bought your computer), frequently AOL will commandeer
obscure communications settings in Internet Explorer,
and prevent you from using the library's proxy services.
If this is the case, use Netscape Navigator.
|
- To install Netscape Navigator for AOL:
- Keyword: netscape
- click on Click Here!
- click on Download Netscape
- Follow the prompts to load and install Netscape Navigator
- Follow the steps listed above for setting up Netscape.
